Good Morning Families

Another gorgeous morning saw us extend our morning play outside. There were many happy children flying their paper planes, making cakes in the mud kitchen and playing chasing games.

After a lovely morning tea of fruit crumble and custard we participated in a variety of indoor activities. Zyanna, Sophie, Elle, Samar, Audrey, and Blaise had a lovely game of babies in the home corner. Jaxon, Jake, Penny and Eloise loved the playdough. Atlas, Joseph, Marley, Cruiz and Liam built with the connectors, whilst Parker, Eloise enjoyed cutting out the toys in the old catalogue.  Others completed their Healthy Harold paintings.

We continued to talk about Healthy and Unhealthy foods and together we did a sorting activity of these foods. Kindergarten 2 are learning some sounds and sight words in preparation for the Home Readers that will start to come home in the next couple of weeks. There is no expectation that the children will be able to read by the end of the year and they aren’t expected to be able to read upon entry to Prep however, an awareness of letters sounds and sight words will be beneficial. The Home Reading experience is meant to be a shared, casual one between adult and child and so you are encouraged to keep the book for a few days.

We hope you have a lovely day as we are having a fabulous day here at Kindy!
