Good afternoon to all of our families and welcome back from the weekend!

Today we have begun our magical week of COLOURS….we will be doing all kinds of amazing activities but with colour recognition being the key ingredient.

We had a great morning outside greeting our friends and having adventures with our friends from babies two,  we chased the bubbles as they floated away and we built big towers with our giant lego…we are getting really clever with our stacking, sometimes we can stack the blocks as tall as ourselves! We also had fun twisting and turning our hula hoops and experimenting with what other things we could make our hula hoops  do.

After a busy morning outdoors we transitioned inside for morning tea, we washed our hands and sang our handwashing song , then sat down for some delicious yoghurt and fresh fruit YUM!

It was then straight into our class activities…..we sat down for a group time Miss Rochelle introduced a new story …Brown Bear Brown Bear what do you see?  this is a great book for our colour recognition the children seemed to really enjoy this book listening and pointing to the pages,

We did a fun fine motor activity today with the children….we had a plastic tray, along with some small tongs, some RAINBOW pompoms and small plates….the children had a serve of pompoms on their plates each and were then given the challenge of using the tongs to pick up the pompoms from their plates to place  into the tray, this was tricky for most but it was so great to see all the little techniques that they tried to use , we spoke about the colours of the pompoms as we were picking them up…..an added challenge was that the pompoms varied in size so the smaller ones were much more difficult for us to pick up. Babies One were amazing!

We also had a little fun practising our yoga today WOW we are really clever our balancing skills are improving every week!

After all that focusing we were lucky to head outside for a play in our sandpit before our lunch, we loved the buckets and spades and our big yellow diggers!

Our lunch today was a delicious pasta bolognaise loaded with lots of hidden vegies,  I am happy to report we all ate really well today …all of us had seconds.

We hope you all have a wonderful evening,

Miss Rochelle and Miss Shawn xoxo
