Welcome to Wednesday everyone,

Lots of fun this morning we all had, that rain did not stop us. Yuna arrived and got lots of lovely cuddles with Miss Bronagh. Miss Bronagh and Yuna read some stories together before Yuna went down for her morning nap. Mason arrived with big smiles on his face and gave Miss Bronagh a big hug then he went exploring around the yard. Mason brought the bouncy balls to Miss Bronagh, she throws it across the yard, Mason laughed then ran after it and brought it back. Conor arrived soon after, he gave Miss Bronagh a cuddle then went off to play. He went to the home corner, got some pans, and began banging them together to make music, as Conor moved his body up and down with big laughs.

For group time today we:

  • Welcomed the country.
  • Greeted the babies with the good morning song.
  • Sung rain rain go away

To finish up the group time Miss Bronagh talked to the children about the weather. As a class we went over to the window and looked at the clouds that were grey. Miss Bronagh explained that when the clouds get darker it rains

For activity time the babies enjoyed self-selected activities which included:

  • Reading books in our self-care corner, our self-care corner has cushions, books, flash cards and soft toys.
  • Home corner which invites the babies to explore, pots, pans, sensory bottles, kitchenette, baskets, and eggs with wooden egg holders.
  • On the mini table the babies had a choice of exploring the stackers, ball runners, puzzles, and coloured wooden blocks.
  • Making our own clouds.

Miss Jess made a big white cloud on paper and put it in the middle of the floor, she got lots of cotton balls and glue. We encouraged the children to come over and see what Miss Jess had. Miss Bronagh talked to the children about cloud, “What are clouds?” Continuing from our rain activity yesterday, we showed the children how to stick the cotton balls onto the clouds. Miss Bronagh talked about the colour of clouds and how they collect rain and release it. We pointed to the clouds high in the sky. Adelin and Kira seemed interested in his activity as Adelin sat beside Miss Jess and picked up the cotton balls carefully and put it onto the cloud. Every time Adelin picked up the cotton balls, she looked at it in her hand and felt it with her other hand. Miss Bronagh asked her, “how did it feel?” “Do you like the feel of it?” Kira like to stick the cotton bug onto the paper then use her two hands to push them all down as she smiled. She watched as Mason came over and lifted the cotton balls. Miss Jess showed Mason what to do, he stuck some cotton balls onto the sheet of paper, then he walked over to the homer corner and played with the pots and pans. Conor came over to the activity, picked up the cotton balls and squeezed them in his hand. He opened his hand and the cotton balls fell to the floor, Conor laughed and picked them up again. Miss Bronagh showed Conor how to stick them onto the sheet of paper, he watched carefully then stuck his cotton balls on. Great job Conor. Once Conor done this once or twice, he quickly moved on to the puzzle table. He picked up the animals, puzzle and played with it for a while. Yuna had a restless sleep, s she joined us in the room, but she just wanted to chill out on her own and watch what her friends where doing. After a short while Yuna stood up and started dancing to the music we had on. She was moving her body up and down while smiling. Kira started to copy Yuna and began dancing too, then Mason and Conor joined in also. We all ended doing some funky dance moves to the music.

Have a wonderful night
