What an absolutely lovely day its been today. We welcomed back our beloved friend Indigo. All the babies were so happy to see her that they were saying her name without any of our help during lunch. Audrey started by saying “Indigo” then the others copied. It was very cute watching them all try to say her name. Our morning has been just as lovely with so many beautiful snuggles and cuddles. For no reason what so ever all of the babies were very cuddly today and gave Miss Stacey and I so many cuddles. It has made our day so thank you babies.
Between all of the cuddles we played a group game with peg boards, dressed up in animal costumes. Through role play the babies acted out animals sounds and movements then encouraged each other to model the same actions and sounds. They patiently allowed one another to have turns making sounds and were keen to copy. They also worked together to make the sounds louder and also to make movements together. They loved making loud roar sounds together. After this we put on Disney music. The babies were encouraged to move their bodies around to the beat. We also tried moving our bodies while holding buckets in our hands.
For group time today we read a book about Mums and Dads, counted with our fingers, talked about animals, shapes and colours, said hello and bye bye then sang:
• Open shut them
• Twinkle twinkle
• If your happy and you know it
• Old Macdonalds Farm
• Heads shoulders knees and toes
• 3 cheeky monkeys
Finally in the afternoon Miss Stacey set up a beach sensory tub using shells, sand, water and toy animals. The babies took part in sensory exploration and role playing activities.
Thank you for all the cuddles today babies, have a great weekend with your families.
