What a lovely sunny Tuesday it has been today. Our day began with quiet playing out in the yard. Miss katrina had set up some chalk drawing at the table and a quiet reading nook for us to sit down and enjoy. Miss Hayley arrived soon after this and enjoyed getting big cuddles from Penny, Elle and Olivia. We all sat at the table and did some drawings then went over to the reading nook to read some stories. Next to arrive was Lennox and Audrey, Lennox initiated a game of rolling the big blue foam ball around. Elle stepped in to help and thought it was a great idea, Penny was next to join and then the game got really interesting when it started to roll faster. We had to get some of our younger friends out of the way so the giant ball could keep rolling around.
Next to arrive were Emilia and Indigo, Indigo enjoyed playing with the small blue bouncy ball. She kept rolling it away then trying to catch it again. Emilia had some cuddles with Miss Hayley then was straight to the slide where she went up and down a few times. Then she went over to the cubby house and had a peek in side, she found some colourful window blocks. Miss Hayley showed her how to look through them. While this was happening Miss Katrina go out the speaker and put on some music. As soon as it started Penny began to break it down and bounce up and down with a huge smile on her face. Emilia saw this and began dancing too. Audrey ran over from the other side of the yard and then joined in as well. Soon most of the babies were trying to dance and copy Miss Hayley as she showed them some dance moves. After we had finished playing outside we all ventured in for some morning tea and then group time. During group time Miss Hayley got out all if the instruments on the mat. Penny, Indigo, Emilia and Jaxon sat down to play. We all took turns at making sounds then Miss Hayley started singing songs along to the music.
• Open Shut Them
• 3 cheeky monkeys (Penny and Lennox knew all the actions)
• Fruit Salad (Olivia danced to this song)
• If your happy and you know it
• We also danced the hokey pokey. (5.2.3)
Then we moved to the other side of the room to play. Jaxon, Emilia and Audrey showed an interest in animals so Miss Hayley initiated a game. All the animal figures were set up on a table with all the babies standing around it. Miss Hayley picked up an animal and said its name and its sound. Then the babies copied picking up an animal and making its sound or saying its name. This game went on for ten minutes. (5.1.1)
Thank you for a lovely day babies.
