Good Afternoon Families

All our little friends arrived super happy and excited to start their day.

During our outdoor adventures we enjoyed exploring with buckets, spades and rakes in our sand pit. Played peek a boo!! With their friends in the circus tent. Threw and kicked balls, chased bubbles as they floated through the air, then waving good bye to them as they floated away drifting up to the clouds. Our large soft foam blocks being loads of fun as our little learners moved them around making lots of interesting obstacle courses to explore, taking mighty leaps from one to the other or rolling, running or walking along them trying to keep their balance.

Today during group time we learnt a fun transition song. We all sat beautifully on the soft grass as Miss Deb sang our names, we would then stand up and have a little dance with Miss Deb before we transitioned indoors to wash our hands for lunch. All our little learners really enjoyed this.

Every year on this day we acknowledge our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Sorry day is the beginning of reconciliation

Description

National Sorry Day, or the National Day of Healing, is an annual event that has been held in Australia on 26 May since 1998, to remember and commemorate the mistreatment of the country’s Indigenous peoples, as part of an ongoing process of reconciliation between the Indigenous peoples and the settler population. Date: Tuesday, 26 May 2020
Significance: Remember and commemorate the mistreatment of Australia’s indigenous population
Also called: Sorry Day

Today during our art experience we acknowledged our Indigenous people. On black paper we did some amazing dot painting using cotton tips along with yellow, red and white paint. All our little ones thougherly enjoyed this learning activity .

Western Desert art is given its unique character by the use of dots. Dots symbolise stars, sparks, burnt ground etc. as the base of an Aboriginal painting is the organisation of the earth and the ancestral connection with it.

Home corner was a hive of activities today with all our little ones engaging in play together role playing as they mixed and stirred and cooking up a storm in their play kitchen. Loads of tea also being brewed in the pretend kettle, pouring it into the little cups and sharing it with their friends. Duplo blocks also being a favourite with our little learners today.

We have all had a wonderful day full of fun learning adventures. See you all again soon.

Have a lovely afternoon everyone ?

loads of love Miss Deb and Miss Shafagh xxoo ❤️❤️
