Good Afternoon Families

Water Water and More Water………. Our little learners have had so much fun playing in water today. Archie,Birdie and Zac became super excited as I started to set up the large container and buckets, knowing what was coming next, they squealed and stamped their little feet with excitement as I started to pour the cool water into the containers. Birdie couldn’t wait any longer and climbed straight into the bucket and sat down in the water with a plonk, I started to rock the bucket as I sang Row Row Row Your Boat and Splish Splash I Was Taking A Bath. Archie and Zac thought that they were hilarious running around watering everyone including Miss Deb :)) They giggled as they ran and hid in the tent. Jaxon was happiest sitting quietly filling bottles with water and tipping them out, and then snuck into the tub for a splash when his friends weren’t looking. Pip found the empty bubble wands, filling them up with water pretending to blow bubbles. Patrick was a bit unsure of all the splashing and excitement so he found a quiet place in the tent, happily sitting and watching his little friends from a distance. Carter decided it would be an amazing idea to tip water onto the slopey foam blocks and use this as a very slippery slide were he and his friend Zac slid around.

Water Play gives many opportunities to develop fine and gross motor skills across age ranges. Children will increase their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through actions like pouring, squirting, scrubbing, stirring and squeezing.

Once we had dried ourselves off we enjoyed some yummy Quiche and salad for lunch. Before we had a nap we enjoyed some group time singing using our hand puppets. This is always super exciting when our puppets come for a visit. The children sat happily on the mat passing the puppets to Miss Deb to sing Old Mac Donald and Five Little Ducks.

While some of our very tired little friends slept, our Two littlest bubs Isla and Patrick enjoyed stacking cups with Miss Bea, as they stacked Miss Bea counted 1,2,3. They were also very interested in the peek a boo bags, opening them up they would then reach in to see what was inside, pulling it out and showing Miss Bea, she would then tell them what it was and make the noise of the particular animal or car. Isla and Patrick loved the noise of the car and copied Miss Bea blowing raspberries making the noise of the cars engine.

Other activities the babies were involved in today was role play in home corner with the kitchen, dolls and telephones. Books in book corner enjoying a moment of solitude. Creative play using their imaginations as they played with the  duplo blocks. Loads of sensory experiences with a variety of different textures, sand, coloured scarves, and our bumpy shape blocks.

We have all had a wonderful day full of fun, laughter and loads of learning adventures.

Our week in babies three has been Amazing, and we are looking forward to more adventures next week.

Have a Great weekend!!

Love Miss Deb and Miss Shafagh xxoo
