Good Afternoon Families

Today in babies three we celebrated Earth Day by using recycled materials during our outdoor play. Large cardboard boxes soon became cars, buses and trains, or comfy beds for our dolls to have a nap in. We took turns at pushing our friends around in the boxes as we pretended to be in a big boat sailing the seas, singing Row Row Row your boat as we rocked back and forth. Our bigger box then turned into a magnificent train with a driver at the engine and the rest of our little people taking a seat in each of the Smaller boxes as we made them into carriages, we then chug chugged along the grassy field With Annie as our engine driver Woooooooo Wooooooooooo!!!!!
To extend on this activity we decided to use crayons to make our train, boat and bus look amazing by adding some colour to them.
Our boxes came in handy during our group time activity also by turning them upside down they made awesome drums for us to play as we sang our favourite songs. Summer loved this idea and banged her hands down onto the box with so much excitement, rat a tat tat, rum a tum tum we sang. If Your Happy And You Know It ?Open Shut Them ✊??The Ants ? Go Marching Boom Boom Boom!!! and This Is The Way We Play On Our Big Bass Drum being just a few of the songs we sang. ? Please Remember To REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE ♻️ Every little bit helps. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.

We also enjoyed having our hands painted green and blue for our Earth Day Poster.

Jaxon was super excited as he placed all the large farm animals into the boxes with lots of enthusiasm he climbed in as well, giving himself a big clap. Archie thought this was a great idea and climbed into a box as well, Isla being ever so helpful gave Archie some books to read while he relaxed in his box. Archie soon clambered out of his cosy box  deciding that the box also made a great hat Funny Archie!! Annie looked at her friend giggled and then tried a box on her own head, both of the little friends ran around giggling with their beautiful hats on.

We have all had a wonderful day with loads of fun learning adventures

Have a lovely afternoon everyone ?

Love Miss Deb and Miss Shafagh xxoo
