Happy FriYAY friends and families of the Kindergarten 1 room. It has come to the end of another fun week in the Kindergarten 1 room and what a wonderful week it has been with all our new friends.

Our day…

Today we were outside enjoying the sunshine, welcoming all our friends as they arrived to kindy with big hugs. We had pillows and books in the yard, puzzles on the tables (counting and ABC puzzles) sandpit full of buckets and spades, music playing on the deck creating a dance floor for our dancers who danced to all their favourite songs showing us their dance moves, friends were playing on the playground using their imagination to create their own pirate ship and plank.

We went inside a little bit earlier this morning as it was a bit humid and hot. We packed away the toys in the sandpit and made our way to the bathroom to wash our hands before sitting on the mat with Miss Sophie for our morning mat time. Our friends are learning the new kindergarten routine really well, we have noticed a lot of our new friends are watching and learning from our older kindergarten friends well done everyone!

As we all sat on the mat with Miss Sophie we practiced the virtue patience and waited for our name to be called for the role, once we herd our name we said Good Morning Miss Sophie with our big voice. Miss Sophie then sung with us our good morning song, days of the week followed by our Jolly Phonics song we really enjoy this song and are learning the actions to use as we sing along to the song it encourages us to say the sounds of the letters and using it in a rhyme.

Today our friends transitioned to the morning tea self serving area with Miss Sophie asking if you are wearing the colour blue today you may go to get your morning tea and so on. It was a great transition for our friends to recognise colours.

Morning teas was a yummy honey yogurt with fresh fruits – bananas, strawberries and rockmelon. The yogurt was very popular.

Mr Dan arrived shortly after we had finished our morning tea, our friends went to Arakan in two small groups where they did running races around the sandpit area and dogging soft pads with Mr Dan. When we had one group of friends outside with Mr Dan, Miss Sophie and Miss Shannen had the other group of friends inside where today we learned how to play the ball game tunnel ball. Our friends did a great job at tunnel ball working well together to get the ball to the end of the line, keeping the line straight and legs apart for the ball to roll through.

All children have been happy and settled today. Overall a great day!

We hope that you all have a safe weekend and we will see you all on Monday.

Miss Sophie and Miss Shannen xx
