Here is how we spent this beautiful Fun FriYAY here at the Hills with Miss Kate and Miss Shannen along with all our Jimbelung (friends)
This morning friends danced their way into our Feel Good Friday here at Kindy, they were all so excited to see what today had in store for them all as we all enjoyed the sunshine and warmth from the sun to warm up our bodies. Miss Shannen had set up so many areas for us – we had friends cosying up on the pillows and reading mat while they enjoyed reading a book or two with some friends just having a lovely chat, friends spun themselves around and around as they took turns on the spinning tables, getting creative constructed the train track that travelled far and wide, zooming up, down and all around on the red bikes, and we had lots of friends using their fine motor skills as they all engineered a rocket to blast into space!. Other friends were busy in the sandpit area building cakes, using bark and sticks to decorate the cakes.
We headed inside with Miss Shannen and Miss Kate where we put away our hats and found a spot and sat on the group time mat reading to learn with our listening ears switched on and volume turned all the way up! We started off our group time with a big Jingeri to answer the roll to Kon’nichiwa in Japanese that was our county for today. We said our welcome to country, sung our days of the week and help Miss Kate to write the day, date, month and year on the board – we are all getting so clever. We recapped our sound and the letter of the week ‘O’ “around the orange” we patiently put our hands up and told Miss Kate some words that started with the letter O: Orange, oval, octopus, octagon, October, Ostrich, and Octonauts. We finished off our group time with our warm up song and we all had a class vote with everyone requesting for “LETS GET DOWN TO BUSINESS” which was no surprise its our class song! It was then time to transition and today Miss Kate transitioned our friends with asking them each to write the letter O on the board, We made our way to the bathroom to practice good hand hygiene with washing our hands with lots of soap and water removing all the germs before we found a seat at the tables and enjoyed our yummy morning that consisted of fresh fruits – watermelon, bananas, apples and berries with rice crackers. We ate it all up we are loving the watermelon today so juicy and sweet! Once all our bellies were full we packed away our plates, bottles and re joined Miss Kate on the group time mat were we all found our own space and listened to some meditation music while we all thought about our affirmations, with Miss Kate calling us up to the mirror one at a time, we had I am… strong, beautiful ,big, a great friend, grateful, powerful, loved and kind!
It was soon time for Arakan with Mr Dan outside in the yard where our friends went into two small groups, today our friends enjoyed running races, and dodging soft pads, catching and throwing a ball to Mr Dan. While our friends were outside with Mr Dan we enjoyed the activities and spaces in our classroom: Over on the tables we had free expression drawing using recycled paper and pencils, we had friends drawing what they did while outside and all their friends, some friends enjoyed playing with the yellow playdough making snakes, donuts, and snowman, friends enjoyed a game of Dominoes, and numeracy puzzles. Over on the other side of the room we had our Cloud café in full swing with lots of yummy, delicious food and drinks coming out of the kitchen to our customers in the seating area, doll house, cars and trucks and our calm area sensory bottles.
We were all so engaged in our activities that the time came around so quickly and it was time for lunch! Before we settled down for our favourite lunch – Fish and chips we then discussed what we were grateful for: My friends, Miss Kate, Miss Shannen, my family, my home, my baby, and being in our classroom.
This afternoon we engaged in quiet activities, drawing, puzzles, shape connectors and our daily journals – where we drew what we were grateful for…
Thank you friends for a great day and a great way to finish off the week by! We hope that you all enjoy your weekends and get up to lots of adventures, we can’t wait to hear all about what you get up too on Monday. and thank you to those families for your time this week in our Parent/Teacher meetings. See you all tomorrow.
Lots of love Miss Kate and Miss Shannen xx
