Before we get into a little a bit about our Monday here are some friendly reminders:
Please do not bring toys from home to Kindy, This is causing arguments amongst our friends. Thank you!
Please remember to sign you child both in and out on the sign in/out ipad located on the noticeboard this so important! If for any reason the ipad isn’t working be see an educator who will need to take a note of the time your child arrives and leaves. Thank you for your understanding.
And last bit not least a reminder with the cooler weather setting in please, pack warm clothes for your child to change into through out the day and also please pack your child spare clothes for any accidents we are in a shortage of spare clothes here at the moment.
.Coming back to Kindy on a Monday is all very exciting for our friends being away from each other for 2 days is a very long time – there is so much that we need to tell our friends, this morning was no different we greeted and welcomed each other with hugs, a friendly hello, and the biggest SMILES! We started off our Monday morning engaging in our classroom with friends from Kindy 2 joining us as we explored the activities that were on offer this morning, as we all arrived we could see all the fun and exciting activities that were outside and on offer today. While it was still a bit fresh this morning we found an activity of two to do in the room while we waited for friends to arrive and the sun to come out and warm up the yard. But before we could go outside we needed to find our hats, slip, slop and slap, lining up at the gate as tall explores with our Adventure shoes and hats on! We had some fun and exciting activities out today – The sandpit was full of buckets and spades, along with all the trucks and diggers you would need to open up your own construction site, MUD kitchen was set up for a feast as friends banged pots and pans together and mixed all their ingredients together to create a yummy cake to share, we were in for a treat today with friends adding bit of bark to the cake turning it into a choc chip cookie cake! Yummy! Over in the yard some friends used their letter recognition to find the letter that was the start of their name in the little quote that Miss Shannen had written in chalk that said – Shine bright like a Diamond. They then travelled over to the art/creative area where this morning we had the large art easel on offer with lots of coloured paints, brushes and large pieces of paper where the children drew what they could see up in the sky! We had lots of different coloured birds, clouds, trees, planes and some stars! We then used our gross motor skills as we walked the plank, bridge, ramps and climbing frames over on the obstacle course and today was the perfect morning to snuggle up on a pillow and have a chat or read a variety of books, over on the other mat we had two construction activities – connectors and large shape blocks and today our friends worked together a team and constructed two jail cells where they each took turns in going inside the cells and role played. It wouldn’t be Monday if we didn’t have some of our favourite tunes playing as we moved and stretched our bodies. These activities support friends in their fine motor skills as well as supporting their imagination. It wasn’t to long before Miss Shannen asked us all to line up as we then headed inside to fill our bellies with yummy nutritious food that’s Miss Kristie had made and start our daily program.
As we came back inside we put away our hats and found a spot down on the group time mat where we had our legs crossed, hands on our laps, listening ears switched on with the volume turned all the up, ready to learn and listen!
Today our Miss Kate was off the floor catching up on some programming time, so we had Mr Lachie join us for the day helping Miss Shannen and all our friends. It was nice to have Mr Lachie back in our room for the day, there was so much to show him as our room has changed a lot since he was here last before we did we showed Mr Lachie how good we all are during our group times. Starting with our Acknowledgement to Country, warming our bodies and minds up to Rapha’s song – “Lets get down to business” as per usual this is our most requested song with friends referring this song to Rapha’s song. We then picked what days of the week song that we wanted to sing along too, found out the dates, weather and helper of the day helping Miss Shannen to write it on the white board. We then recapped our sounds that we have been learning and today Miss Shannen introduced to us our sound/letter of the week which is the letter K. “Down the kangaroo’s body, tail and leg” that we drew with our magic pens. We then put all our thinking caps on thought of “K” words – Kait, Kate, Kobe, kettle, kite, keyboard, King, Kangaroo, kindy, kitten, kiwi fruit, Kiwi, keys, and so many more! We transitioned to our morning tea that Mr Pete and Mr Lachie had set up for us with playing a game of eye spy! Where we had to look and find words that we had discussed this morning in our group time that started with the letter K– we all did so well!
This morning we all enjoyed fresh fruit – custard and muesli filling our bellies up for the morning ahead.
As we had such a fun day having our outdoor morning we decided that we spend the rest of the morning outside enjoying the sunshine and getting some vitamin D and the beautiful day! We packed away our morning tea dishes, applied our own sunscreen, hats on and joined Miss Jess on the mat as we patiently waited for our next instruction on the outdoor activity that she had planned for us.
While we were outside today we had to wait our turn as Miss Jess called our names and we then had to look around on the grass and find the letter which our name started with. This was great fun and friends were amazing at searching and finding. We then headed to the sandpit where we practised writing the letters, once we finished, we decided to stay outside and enjoy the fresh air. We rode the bikes, made sandcastles and bakes yummy cupcakes!
We filled our bellies up with our pasta lunch and drew in our journals. Soon it was time to engage in quiet activities where we explored the construction blocks, shape connectors, drawing beautiful pictures, copied our names with the magnetic letters and played dominos with Mr Lachie.
Thanks for a beautiful day Kindy One
Lots of love Miss Shannen and Mr Lachie xxx
