What a fabulously busy day we have had today! Despite the rain preventing us from playing in the open playground, we did have some fun in the sandpit. Children worked cooperatively together to build towers or to dig holes. Others enjoyed the mud kitchen and were engrossed in making birthday cakes.
Luckily it was Arakan today and Mr Dan was able to use all of our energy to run, kick and punch. The children displayed excellent listening skills, following Mr Dan’s directions.
Following Arakan, they polished off their fruit bread and fresh fruit and were ready to do their indoor activities. Today they wanted colouring in, so some children did a colouring in of vegetables and the home corner was busy with friends cooking up a storm. The new cars again were quite popular, with the children racing them around the track.
During group time we did a revision of their sounds. It was exciting to see many children being able to recall the sounds we have done as well as remember the songs that went along with them. We also looked at the number of syllables in our names. This is a fun activity to do in the car, asking them the number of syllables in different words.
After such a busy morning and with it being so wet and cool, the children were ready for a rest time, listening to music and reading books.
Have a fabulous weekend and we will see you all next week!
