This morning outside, Elke, Nisha, Alaska, CC, Bonnie and Grace were colouring-in at the tables. The girls were colouring in Christmas trees to celebrate the festive season. Thomas, Nash and Connor were building a house for their animals. The boys used blocks and bamboo sticks to create a building for their dinosaurs and other animals to explore and play on. Spencer and Lewis were having driving races around the sandpit. The boys used the sieves as steering-wheels to race around.
For group time, we completed our Acknowledgement to Country. After that, the children chose the Days of the Week song and completed the daily calendar. Mr Don then sang a few Christmas songs with the children.
At activity time, Leilani, Alaska, Lillian, CC, Bonnie and Daniella were collaging some Christmas trees. The girls used pom-poms, glitter, sequins and rhinestones to decorate the trees. Lewis, Connor, Shion, Charlie, Cooper P, Cooper T, Nash, Spencer and Aristotelis were building cars out of the Mobilo. They were adding as many wheels and parts as they could to create their own kind of car. Elke, Rie and Nisha enjoyed rolling and cutting out biscuits out of the cookie dough. The children had to use their strength to roll out the dough and then use the cutter to slice circles. It was sticky, but so fun! Thomas and Grace enjoyed playing in home corner. They were cooking and serving up meals.
Mr Daniel came to teach the children Arakan today. The children started off practicing to raise their left and right arms. Then, Mr Daniel asked children to practice hitting with their hands. To conclude their practice, the children practiced their scary faces. If Mr Daniel had time, the children participated in the racing game where 2 children had to race to quickly retrieve Mr Daniel’s toys.
At group time, Miss Jade read a story called, ‘Santa’s 12 Days of Christmas.” It was a fun book about what Santa gets up to when he is on holidays. After the story, CC and Connor shared their Show and Tell. CC had a special photo of her family with Santa while Connor received a special letter from Santa!
For the table activities, the children enjoyed, drawing, connecting shapes, magnetic sticks, and connecting flowers.
For group time, we chose our phonics song and went over our alphabet. We then chose a phonics game to engage in. Then, we began to practice our songs for the Christmas party. We enjoyed singing and dancing to them.
