This morning outside, Nisha was at the drawing table. She was drawing her sister, mother and father. Cooper T, Cooper P, Nash, Connor and Thomas were at the fence with Miss Jade. They saw a green ball and were trying to work out how to retrieve that ball. So, they decided that they should use a broomstick. They all took turns in using the broomstick, but it was just not long enough. Miss Nadine said we would have to wait until we could go over the fence.

For group time this morning, we completed our Acknowledgement to country. The children then chose the days of the week song and completed the calendar. Then we had a few friends share their Show and Tell. Alaska, Nash, shared their collections. Thank you so much everyone! It was so interesting to see what you like to collect.

For activity, we had a bug activity as so many friends are so intrigued about them. We had corks, buttons, sticks, paddle pop sticks, matchsticks and pipe cleaners that we could use to create our own bugs! Connor, Kai, Alaska, Lillian, Daniella, Nisha and CC loved gluing the things together to make their own bugs! Thomas, Cooper P and Cooper T enjoyed the cars. The children were racing them along the car table. Kai, Nash, Aristotelis, Rie, Bonnie, Leilani, Lewis, Shion and Charlie were building train tracks that went around the entire kindergarten room. It even went through tables! Connor and Angelo were playing together at the table with the memory game. They were taking turns in finding matching pairs.

Mr Daniel had us for Arakan this morning. We first began by standing in our stance, then we all had turns hitting with our left and right hands. Mr Daniel would then ask the children to show him their scariest and meanest face. Everyone looked so scary! To conclude, the children played the racing game where they would verse another person to race around the sandpit, retrieve the toy and make it back to the line. It looked so fun!

At group time, we read a story that was made by Bellevue Park State School. This book was about what the children did at school and what they might be able to see. We also got to watch a video made by the deputy principal at Benowa State School. This video was made to show the children what the school looks like, especially the prep area and what they may expect to do and see. The children seemed very excited to be going to school next year!

Then, we had a group discussion about bugs. As many children were interested in them, we brainstormed as many bugs as we could name. Our brainstorm was huge; we included bugs such as mantis, butterfly, cockroaches, green ants and moths! We can’t wait to learn more about them. We then concluded with a book called, “Ladybug’s Holiday.”

For the table activities, the children enjoyed the writing table, dog number game, memory game, snap, drawing and floor puzzles.

Next, we picked out the phonics song that we wanted to sing. Then, we practiced our performance and routine for graduation.
