This morning outside, Steve and Angelo enjoyed playing in the sandpit. They were working together to build a sand castle. Summer enjoyed reading the Where’s Wally? book. She was going through page to search for Wally. Shion, Lillian and Alaska enjoyed the water play. It was a warm morning so playing with the water was very refreshing! The water play had some toy animals for the children to play with.
At group time, we completed our Acknowledgement to Country. Nash chose the country of the day, which was Namibia. We looked at their flag and described what we saw. We searched up Namibia on the map and found out that it is in the continent of Africa. There was a dessert beside the country so we discussed what type of weather they might have. We believed that it would be very hot and sunny there. We also discussed what types of animals we could find in deserts. Sofia then told Miss Jade that she wanted to make paper chains. So we thought it would be great to make Christmas chains. Sofia came out the front to teach and demonstrate how to make one. She seemed like an expert!
Sofia, Alaska, Lillian, Summer, Kai, Bonnie and Daniella enjoyed making Christmas paper chains. We used white, green and red paper. Some friends were able to make patterns when linking the chains. Fynn, Eric, Steve, Shion and Angelo enjoyed the cars. The children used the plastic cars along with their cars to build a course for them. Rie and Alaska enjoyed the magnetic dress-up. The children enjoyed choosing the outfits for their characters. Lillian enjoyed the drawing table where she was drawing people. Kai and Connor were at the train set building a track for their trains while Nash and Spencer enjoyed the connecting flowers. Aristotelis, Ben and Cooper T enjoyed the Mobilo. They were building cars and creating tracks for them.
At group time, Steve, Spencer and Sofia shared their Show and Tell. The theme was ‘Mystery Bag’ and the children had to share their clues with their peers to try and guess what it was. Steve brought in a Transformer, Spencer brought in Lightening McQueen and Sofia brought a fairy. Thank you for sharing!
For the table activities, the children enjoyed the writing table, connecting sticks, drawing, puzzles and making paper chains
For group time, we chose our phonics song and went over our alphabet. Then, we began to practice our songs for the Christmas party. We enjoyed singing and dancing to them.
