This morning outside Fynn, Ben and Cooper T were playing a game called, ‘Big Bad Wolf.’ Fynn was pretending to be the wolf and had to try and get the other children. Steve, Eric, Shion and Kai enjoyed playing on the fort. They were all climbing and going down the slide.

At group time, we completed our Acknowledgement to Country. Then, Steve chose a flag for the day, which was the country Georgia. We looked at the flag and searched up the map. We found out that it was underneath the country Russia. In Georgia, they speak Georgian and to say ‘Good Morning,’ they say ‘Dila Mshvidobisa.’ It was a tricky word, but most friends attempted to complete the roll in Georgian. After that, we spoke about how there was something different in the room. There was an elf and a book sitting on the shelf! Miss Jade read the book called, ‘Elf on the Shelf.’ The book told us that we had to name the elf and to not touch the elf as it was Santa’s helper to watch the children. We then decided to give it a name and it was called ‘Elfie.’ We are so happy to welcome Elfie into Kindergarten 2!

At activity time, Kai was playing with the connecting flowers. He as building a car out of as many flowers as he could find. Shion, Aristotelis, Nash, Spencer and Connor enjoyed the Mobilo. All the children were building cars and trucks and created all different designs. Steve, Eric and Cooper T enjoyed playing in home corner. They were pretending to make food in the kitchen. It was looking delicious! Alaska, Lillian, Daniella and Bonnie were at the tables playing with the Christmas sorting game. There were a variety of Christmas pictures in various sizes. The children had to sort the pile into the same group and sort them from largest to smallest. Lillian and Fynn enjoyed painting the wrapping paper. They used triangles and squares to paint Christmas trees. Rie loved the number puzzles. She had to match the numeral and the pictures to each other. Ben was completing another number puzzle. This time we had to sort the numbers in the caterpillar in order. Sofia was sitting at the table reading Christmas stories. She enjoyed looking at the pictures of the books. Summer enjoyed painting and decorating Christmas trees. She loved adding the sequins and jewels on them.

At group time, Connor and Kai shared their Show and Tell. This week’s theme was ‘Childhood Pictures.’ We got to see the boys when they were a lot smaller. It was so cute! Then, we sat in a circle for some number work. Miss Jade placed a numeral down in the centre of the circle and she asked a variety of friends to use the teddy bear manipulative to count the presented number. Everyone enjoyed counting and joining in the activity.

For the table activities, the children enjoyed the writing table, drawing, magnetic sticks, puzzles, memory game and connecting flowers.

For group time, we chose our phonics song and went over our alphabet. We then chose a phonics game to engage in. Then, we began to practice our songs for the Christmas party. We enjoyed singing and dancing to them.

Home-readers will be located downstairs in the office for you to personally change on a weekly basis. RSVP list for the Christmas Party is located in the upstairs office.
