This morning outside, Rie and Alaska enjoyed playing in the sandpit. Alaska enjoyed scooping sand into the squeeze bottle while Rie was digging holes. Eric and Steve were making smoothies in the sandpit. The boys added bark, sand and water to make a mixture that was pretending to be a milkshake. Yum! Fynn and Bonnie were sitting on the grass together looking at a picture. This picture was of Bonnie from the beginning of the year. She looked different! Sofia, Daniella and Lillian enjoyed the mini books on the grass. The children were going through the pages of the book and showing each other pictures that they see. Ben, Cooper T, Rie, Summer and Mr Don were looking into the bushes as they saw a bee. The bee was laying on the ground in the bushes so everyone was just watching and observing to see what it was doing.

For group time this morning, we completed our Acknowledgement to country. Miss Jade asked the children what they did on the weekend, and it sounded like everyone was so busy this past weekend. Summer chose the flag of the day, which, was Argentina. We searched up the map of Argentina and saw that it was in South America. The language they speak is Spanish so we asked Sofia to tell us how they greet which they say, “Hola.” We then completed our roll in Spanish. Then Tali chose our morning song and we sang our ‘Days of the Week Song.” After singing the song, we completed our daily calendar/weather chart.

For activity time, we had a Halloween sensory activity. This activity had green water with various letters, spiders, centipedes, eyes and bats. The children had to use the tongs provided to seek the letters of their name. Fynn, Tali, Ben, Shion, Nash, Cooper T and Connor enjoyed getting their hands wet and searching for their names. Sofia. Daniella and Bonnie enjoyed playing in home corner. The girls were dressing up in various outfits and playing pet and owner. Kai, Nash, Aristotelis and Angelo loved the train tracks. They were connecting the tracks together to form a large track for their trains. Spencer was playing with the connecting flowers with Miss Jade. They were building cars and motorbikes together. It was so fun. Tali, Connor and Rie enjoyed the memory game. The children took turns to turn over pairs of cards to find the matching pair. Great teamwork friends! Eric. Steve and Ben loved the cars. The boys created a rap for their cars to jump from. They were jumping so high! Alaska wanted to play with play dough so we used the play dough tools to cut and make shapes out of the dough. Lillian, Summer and Kai also enjoyed this.

This week for Show and Tell, our theme is ‘Collections.’   Kai and Connor shared their collections and it was so interesting to see what they collected. We love how each person is unique and will collect different things. Thank you for sharing! After Show and Tell, we engaged in a story. Today’s story was called, ‘Room on the Broom.’ It was a Halloween themed story and it was so interesting and fun to listen to.When we finished the story, we watched and danced to a counting video up to 20.

For the table activities, the children enjoyed the writing table, shape patterns, connecting flowers, floor puzzles, memory game and drawing.

Next, we picked out the phonics song that we wanted to sing. After the song, we played ‘Alphabet Find Game.’This activity had the children sit in a circle. In the centre of the circle were letters of the alphabet. Miss Jade would choose 2 children at a time to come into the centre and dance around the letters. When the music stopped, Miss Jade would say a letter and its sound and the children have to quickly find the letter. The children loved dancing to the music and quickly finding the letters.
