Good evening to our families and friends. We hope everyone is having a nice day so far.
Our day in Kindy started outside in the sandpit yard. The children enjoyed digging in the sand, making volcanoes and pretending to cook. They also built with wooden and foam blocks and balanced on the wooden logs.
We headed inside at 9.30 as usual to sit on the mat where we sang songs said good morning to our friends and teachers, identified today’s day, date and the weather with teacher’s helper assistant, Beau, and practised the acknowledgement of the country. As Theodore was wearing a shirt with Aboriginal colours and patterns, he agreed to help Miss Qiu elaborate on the acknowledgement by explaining the symbols and patterns on his t-shirt.
After enjoying Morning Tea (blueberry cake with fruits), children were asked to sit back down on the mat where Miss Qiu reminded and extended children’s knowledge upon sea turtles as they are still one of our classroom’s interests.
Morning play time activities for children to explore where music and dress up corner, connector cubes, farm/sea animals and tracing our hands and cut around them with Miss Sana. A collaging activity was offered for children, however Jonah suggested to paint instead with Aboriginal art. Children also participated in a nice relaxing yoga class with Miss Hayley.
Before lunch time (sausage roll with tomato sauce and salad), Beau talked about his show and tell which was all about volcanos and reasons which make volcanos so interesting. To extend upon that, children asked to watch an educational video about volcano facts.
Thanks Kindergarten Two for a fun day,
Lots of Love,
Miss Qiu and Miss Sana X.
