This morning outside, Elke and Nisha were playing in the sandpit. The girls were using the leave in there to make some delicious food. YUM! Charlie and Rie were playing on the side of the sandpit. Rie was building a house of blocks while Charlie was playing with the dinosaurs, as the house was its home. Shion, Nash and Thomas were playing on the fort. The boys were pretending to be dinosaurs and even had some of the dinosaurs to use as they wondered around the yard. Lillian and Abigail were playing in the trough. The girls were scooping sand into their buckets and mixing their mixture around.
For group time this morning, we completed our Acknowledgement to country.
Next, we chose our Days of the Week song and this morning we chose a new one. This one was a rap and it was so fun to sing and hear a new song. We then completed our daily calendar. After, Bonnie, Rie and Aristotelis shared their Show and Tell. The children shared their collections with the rest of the class. Everyone was so fascinated with their collections, especially Bonnie’s; hers was a toy Lemur. The children were so fascinated by the Lemur that Miss Nadine put on a lemur video where we could find some more information on it. We learnt that they use their scents to communicate to each other, they are from Madagascar and eat foods like plants and fruit
At activity, we were able to make our own lemurs. We used cardboard rolls as they Lemur’s body and painted it black and white. We glued on some buttons for eyes and ears and lastly added pop sickle sticks or pipe cleaners as the tail. Daniella, Bonnie, Abigail, Leilani, Lillian and Alaska loved making their own lemurs. Shion, Aristotelis, Nash, Connor and Charlie were playing with the train set. The boys created another train track that went all the way to the tables! Elke, Rie and Nisha were playing with the dollhouse. Each person played a character and they were pretending to play families. Ben, Cooper P, Cooper T, Steve, Eric and Thomas enjoyed the cars. The boys created a ramp for their cars to jump and then they use a container lid as their jump and began to see where they could make the cars jump around the room. Fynn and Archie enjoyed the connecting flowers. They were connecting the flowers together and seeing how large they could build their creation.
At group time, Miss Haley came to have a yoga lesson with us. We first began by following Miss Haley and completing some yoga poses. To conclude, we played a song and did some moves like downward dog and the tree.
For the table activities, the children enjoyed the writing table, dog number game, memory game, snap, drawing and floor puzzles.
Next, we picked out the phonics song that we wanted to sing. Then, we practiced our performance and routine for graduation.
