This morning outside, Fynn and Connor were building towers beside the sandpit. The children were stacking them as high as they could and then asked Miss Jade and Miss Nadine to help them stack the very top blocks. The tower eventually was so tall, that it had nearly reached the roof of the undercover area! It did eventually fall over though! Daniella, Steve, Emmett and Lillian enjoyed the water play. The girls filled the stepping stools with water and stepped inside of the water. It was so cold! CC and Sofia enjoyed the sandpit. They were filling up buckets with water and sand. The girls would then mix it all up to create a mixture.
At group time, we completed our Acknowledgement to Country. Then, we chose our days of the week song. This one was the rapping one, which was so exciting because we could get up, and dance. After we completed our days of the week song, we completed our daily calendar. When we finished, Lillian, Sofia and Emmett shared their Show and Tell. Lillian brought in her Elsa Doll, Sofia brought in a medal while Emmett brought in a book. Thank you for sharing friends!
At activity time, Alaska, CC, Connor and Cooper P enjoyed the magnetic tubes. They loved to connect them together and make a long snake. Emmett. Spencer and Cooper T enjoyed home corner. Here the children were pretending to be eating meals at the table. Lewis, Archie and Fynn enjoyed the connecting sticks. They realised that the tin that held them was magnetic, so they connected the magnetic sticks to it. Lillian and Abigail were at the drawing table. Here, the girls were drawing their friends. Shion, Eric, Steve and Aristotelis were at the cars table. The children used the bridges from the train track to create ramps for their cars to jump across. They even used the containers for the cars to land in. Great thinking friends!
For group time, Miss Vee came and had Art Therapy with us. The mantra for the lesson was, “I feel whole.” We listed to a story called, “I Love Me” where it explored the concept of self-love through celebrating individuality and building self-esteem. Physical aspects, internal make-up and ways of being and seeing are appreciated and praised through loving ourselves.
Our activity today was to use our feet to mix blue and yellow paint with our feet to see what colour it would turn and to use our feet for sensory. Then, the children were able to add glitter onto their art pieces, Creating paintings with their feet based on the concept of self-love and approval to play and have an experience without an end result in mind. Each child will create patterns, shapes, blending of colours based on individuality. Using glitter to sprinkle their painting with self-love will add a magical touch.
For the table activities, the children enjoyed the writing table, connecting sticks, drawing and puzzles.
Next, we picked out the phonics song that we wanted to sing. Then, we practiced our performance and routine for graduation.
