This morning outside, Bonnie, Leilani, Shion and Steve were playing with the water play. There were dinosaurs and animals that the children enjoyed washing and playing within the water. Sofia and Daniella enjoyed making some arts and crafts at the table. They were drawing with the coloured pencils and then would use sticky tape and glue to place down some matchsticks. Fynn, Steve and Archie enjoyed building towers with the blocks. They worked together to collect the blocks and balance them on top of each other. Cooper T, Cooper P and Alaska enjoyed the climbing frame. They were climbing on it and even hanging upside down.
At group time, we completed our Acknowledgement to Country. Then, the children chose the Days of the Week song and completed the daily calendar.
At activity time, Abigail enjoyed the dog counting game. She would spin the spinner and see what number the arrow landed on. Then, Abigail would find the matching card with the same number of spots on the dog. Bonnie, Lillian and Leilani enjoyed the drawing and arts and craft table. The girls were drawing pictures and even glues down sequins and gems onto their pages. Daniella, CC, Emmett, Sofia and Archie were having lots of fun in home corners. Some children were dressing up while others were cooking delicious meals for their friends. Spencer loved the Mobilo. He was creating a car with as many cars as he could and then would drive them around the room. Alaska was sitting quietly in book corner completing the treading activity. She was carefully placing the string through the holes of the pictures. Cooper T and Cooper P were at the cars table racing their cars along the streets. Lewis was concentrating on completing the space puzzle. He worked independently to complete it.
At group time, Miss Vee came for her final visit of Art Therapy, Today, she read a story called ‘Stone Soup,’ It was about adding all different vegetables into a soup. We all had to listen and imagine what we thought it tasted like. Then, for our activity, we used real carrots, apples, corn and potatoes to create art with paint. Some friends pushed it around on their pages, rolled it or even dotted it.
Then, Emmett and Lillian shared their Show and Tell. Emmett shared his Mystery bag while Lillian had a photo. Thanks for sharing friends!
For the table activities, the children enjoyed the writing table, drawing, magnetic sticks, puzzles, and connecting flowers.
For group time, we chose our phonics song and went over our alphabet. We then chose a phonics game to engage in. Then, we began to practice our songs for the Christmas party. We enjoyed singing and dancing to them.
Home-readers will be located downstairs in the office for you to personally change on a weekly basis. RSVP list for the Christmas Party is located in the upstairs office.
