Dear families and friends, we hope everyone had a nice long weekend.

We started our Tuesday venturing outside alongside our Kindergarten One friends. The activities offered for children included sandpit area, bikes, reading time, role modelling with babies, slides, water play and climbing forts. Whilst waiting for everyone to arrive, the children also challenged their balance skill on balancing beams. Outside the children also had the opportunity to use their imagination and get creative with waffle blocks.

At 9.30, we washed our hands and sat on the mat to start our group time. We sang songs, identified today’s day, date and weather with the teacher’s helper, Alexander and acknowledged the country. We then continued with identifying the letter of the week letter L. The children identified the letter, pronounced it’s sound and helped Miss Sana recognising objects on letter L card. The children also pronounced the sound of letters from letter A to letter L. Our friends were transitioned to Morning Tea by individually making the sound of each letter Miss Sana pointed to.

After Morning Tea (porridge with coconut yoghurt and sultanas), Miss Grace and Miss Sara (speech therapists) read the children a book about doctors and clinics and brought in a stethoscope for them to test out. They sang ‘Miss Polly had a dolly’ and even got a band-aid at the end!

We then separated the classroom in two groups. The first group stayed inside with Miss Qiu where they played with cars, colourful cylinder blocks, crocodile and alphabet puzzle and shared their experiences over the weekend. The second group headed outside with Miss Sana for a quick run and play.

Before Lunch (noodles with salad), Matilda and Mason shared their show and tell to the classroom. Thanks friends for sharing.

Before Afternoon Tea, we will be talking about fair play and respecting each other during play. The children will also participate in this discussion by sharing their ideas.

Thanks everyone for a great day.
