We have had a wonderfully busy day at Kindergarten today! As we have Art today and Kindergarten 1 use our room first, we enjoyed an extended play outside in the fabulous sunshine. The children engaged in a number of activities including, construction with stickle blocks, playdough and reading on the mat with the comfy pillows. The usual outdoor activities of sand play, the obstacle course and racing around and over the fort were also popular. They certainly developed a ravenous appetite and were ready for their morning tea which was home made baked beans with turkish bread.
The children enjoyed their Art lesson today. ‘Stinky Face’ was the story the art teachers read to the children before they transitioned to the actual art activity. It was about a Skunk called ‘Stinky Face’ that turned into dinosaur. The children all had a big giggle and couldn’t wait to create their own stinky faces with paper plates, green paint and green little thin foam noodles. What a fun and great fine motor activity.
During group time we continued reviewing the sounds we have learnt and sang our Jolly Phonics song. They are becoming excellent readers of our days of the week and we are now also learning about the seasons. Youtube has a great Seasons song that we enjoy and they can watch it at home.
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD HAS THEIR HAT EACH DAY FOR KINDY. COULD YOU ALSO PLEASE CHECK FOR ANY SPARE HATS YOU MAY HAVE AT HOME AS MANY OF OURS SPARES HAVE GONE WALK ABOUT. THANK YOU 🙂
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD’S SHOW AND TELL BOOKLET IS FILLED IN EACH TIME. THIS HELPS US PROMPT THEM WITH QUESTIONS DURING THEIR TURN!
