This morning outside, Lewis, Archie, Fynn, Daniella. Sofi, Lillian, Alaska, Cooper P and CC were playing ‘The Floor’s Lava.’ The children were climbing along the equipment to make sure that they did not touch the ground! Lillan found a ladybug in the bushes. She was so excited about it and wanted to take it home. But Miss Jade reminded her that ladybugs need be outside to survive.

For group time, we completed our Acknowledgement to Country. Then, Eric chose the country of the day which, was India. We looked at the flag of India and spoke about the colours and images on the flag. We then found out that their main languages are Hindi and English. We then looked at the map of India and looked at the neighbouring countries. We concluded in finding out that they say ‘Merri Kirisamasa.” We then completed our roll in Hindi and Fynn then chose the Days of the Week song. After that, we completed our daily calendar.

At activity time, Miss Jade had a Christmas stocking activity where the children decorated their own stockings. The children used glitter, pompoms, sequins, stickers and rhinestones. Sofia, Lillian, Abigail, Shion and Daniella loved adding glitter and decorating their stockings. Emmett and Lewis loved the puzzles. They were completing a world puzzle and together, they were trying to figure out where all the pieces go. With Mr Don’s help, they were able to complete it. Fynn and Archie enjoyed the magnetic sticks. The boys were joining all the long sticks together to see how long they could make it. Eric, Steve and Connor enjoyed the Mobilo. The children were making cars and then would go against each other to see whose car was the fastest. Cooper P and Cooper T were playing with the cars. The boys were discussing the designs of each car and explaining why some were faster than others. Bonnie enjoyed the drawing table. Here, she was drawing a picture of a hamster. CC, Sofia, Alaska, Connor and Cooper T wanted to bring out the scented playdough. The children were making ‘cookies’ by using the various cookie-cutters.

At group time, Connor shared his Show and Tell. This week, our theme is “I spy…” The item must begin with the same letter as their name. Lillian shared a lion while Sofia brought in a picture of her childhood as she did not bring one last week. After Show and Tell, Mr Don read a story.

For the table activities, the children enjoyed drawing, puzzles, magnetic sticks, floor puzzles and bingo.

For group time, we chose our phonics song and went over our alphabet. We then chose a phonics game to engage in. After that, the children chose various songs to sing and dance to.
