This morning, the children played indoors as it was raining. Grace and Elke were playing at the table with the animals and wooden people. They were pretending to be each character. Nash, Fynn and Lewis were playing marble run with Miss Shannan. The children linked the pieces of the track together and created a long track for the marbles to run down.

At group time, we completed our Acknowledgement to Country. Then, Nash chose the country of the day, which was Spain. We looked at the flag and spoke about the colours and the images. Then, we spoke about what language they might speak there. The language they speak sounds very similar to the name of the country, and it was Spanish! We spoke about how our friend Sofia speaks Spanish. Then, we looked at the map of Spain and spoke about the location of countries and the capital city. To conclude, we found out that they say ‘Merry Christmas’ by saying “Feliz Navidad.” It sounded very similar and some friends new that it was a song! Next, Fynn chose our Days of The Week Song and we completed our Daily Calendar.

Aristotelis and Connor had gifts for their friends to hand out and Miss Jade handed out the cards from our friend Emmett.

At activity time, Fynn, Lillian, Elke, Ben and Grace enjoyed playing with the kinetic sand. They were rolling it out and using the cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Aristotelis, Nash, Archie, Eric, Steve, Lewis, Spencer and Kai enjoyed the trains. The children all worked together to create a track that went all across the kindergarten room and to Kindergarten 1’s. Daniella asked Miss Jade to put on the Spanish Christmas song “Feliz Navidad.” CC and Bonnie joined Daniella and they listened and sang along to the song. Connor was playing with the puzzles in book corner. He was independently completing various ones on his own.

Spencer asked Miss Jade when they could go outside, so we decided to pack away and have a quick play outside, Kai enjoyed looking for ladybugs and even found one crawling on him! Elke and Grace wanted to play with the alphabet puzzle. The girls took all the pieces out and worked together to complete it. Nash and Kai also enjoyed completing this puzzle.  Eric, Kai and Steve enjoyed playing with the cars alongside the snowman cups. They build a tower of cups together and then would crash their cars into the tower. Aristotelis brought in his soccer ball so he, Connor, Ben, Spencer, Lewis and Ben playing soccer along the grass area.

For the table activities, the children enjoyed drawing, connecting flowers, table puzzles, memory game and floor puzzles.

For group time, we chose our phonics song and went over our alphabet. We then chose a phonics game to engage in. After that, the children chose various songs to sing and dance to.
