Good afternoon Families,
Today we had a busy day learning about our new project topic which is learning about the ocean and the animals that live in the ocean, over the next couple of months we will be learning about different habitats and places animals live.
During group time we sang some songs together, we also read Mr Wiggle and Mr waggle and went through out numbers and shapes, we also looked at the new numbers from 10-15 and counted all the way to there. We also looked at some new shapes and revised our old ones, we are very smart knowing what a pentagon, hexagon and octagon were, we counted the sides as well to make sure we had the right ones. When we were finished doing this we discussed what we knew about the ocean and created a mind map with this. We also looked at the story the Rainbow fish and discussed what other things he could of done differently.
During activity time we had some sensory play with playing with water play, we put sea animals, shells, pebbles and bubbles into a container to play with, we spoke about what they need to live, and how many different sea animals we know. We also made our own rainbow fish and made our own starfish using bubble wrap. We also had lots of fun using the dominos, connector people, drawing and waterplay during rest time and also read a story together. We also played with homecorner and played with the keys, using the keys for turning on cars, opening cupboard and unlocking doors during our play. We also used the blocks to make towers and used the dinosaurs to play with.
