Jingeri families and friends of our wonderful Kindergarten 1 class, welcome to our blog for Thursday 15th of April 2021, we hope that everyone has had a great day just like we all have here in Kindergarten 1. This is a little snippet on our day here at the Hills….
Before we begin here are some reminders:
- ANZAC day is next week- we are looking for photos of family members in the military. If you have any please bring in or email to the office.
- Please join us for our ANZAC service Friday 23rd April at 2.30pm in the PK/SK yard.
- Parent/Teacher meetings are filling up- Please place your child’s name in a slot (the sheet is by the Ipad) These will begin May 10th. We will be discussing new goals and anything our friends may need to develop as well as School reediness. A meeting with your teacher is the first step to a collaborative partnership focused on the best interests of your child.
This morning friends were eager to head outside and explore the yard, Miss Kate had asked PK if we could borrow some bikes- friends were super excited about this and zoomed around the yard. Other friends explored the sandpit and were busy digging for treasure. Other friends decided to move the obstacle course down the yard a little and re created it. As lovely as it was having fun outside we soon headed in.
Once inside we began our program and group time joining Miss Kate and Miss Shannen down on the group time mat – we acknowledged the country, warmed up to “Happy Birthday to you”- Stevie Wonder as it was Aarons Birthday- HAPPY BIRTHDAY AARON!!! We sang the days of the week, found out the date and weather and recapped our letters and sounds. This week sound it “n” we practised saying it and then with our magic pens we went “Down Nobby and over his net”. Friends then thought of some “n” words
We then transitioned with practising writing “n” on the board. We then headed into the bathroom and washed our hands with lots of soap and water practising good hygiene before then sitting down at the tables with our drink bottles where we all enjoyed a yummy beans and bread with a choice of fresh fruit. We had group conversations amongst ourselves about what activities we would like. After we finished our morning tea we headed to the mat with Miss Kate where we engaged in our Affirmations- I am Strong, grateful, proud of who I am, happy, loved, beautiful, kind, powerful and going to have the best day!. . While we finished off our Affirmations Miss Shannen set up the tables for us with lots of activities for the morning.
Sadly Miss Bea headed home as she wasn’t feeling to good- get better soon Miss Bea!! We had a table of brick blocks, which friends engaged in by looking at the photos. Friends also requested the water beads and Miss Kate gave them cups to fill them up and empty them- friends enjoyed watching them bounce out. Playdough was also popular and friends enjoyed using the ANZAC mats to make poppies and ANZAC biscuits. Friends also enjoyed the café, Miss Kate was one of the customers and Hari made her a delicious coffee, Anthony and Lucia enjoyed donuts and watermelon with a fresh drink of lemonade! Out on the balcony friends got messy with Shaving foam! The trucks, doll house and blocks were combined together to create a huge house for dolls to explore.
Soon it was lunch time today- delicious fried rice, once our bellies were full we rested their bodies and minds before we all journaled what the best part of our day was…
This afternoon we engaged in quiet activities, before Kindy 2 then joined us to practise our ANZAC service songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqtttbbYfSM
Ode of remembrance
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
We would love if families could support friends in learning these.
Thank you for another great day friends, have a great evening and we will see you all tomorrow
Lots of love Miss Kate and Miss Shannen xx
