Jingeri families and friends of our Kindergarten 1 classroom, what another beautiful day to be at Kindy! We began our morning outside with friends basking in the sunshine and exploring the yard in many ways. To develop friends gross motor skills the obstacle course was set up with a variety of balance beams and climbing frames. The sand pit was also busy, friends were in the mud kitchen going up lots of birthday cake and cupcakes for Kaia and Anthony! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS!! THANK YOU FOR THE YUMMY CUPCAKES! The Big lego blocks were popular, friends constructed a fort to hide in. Friends also enjoyed the train track and the trains, they worked as a team to build it together and zoom the train around.
Soon it was to line up and say Jingeri to Miss Kate as we all transitioned inside, putting our hats away and joining Miss Kate on the mat, we started off our group time with our warm up dance song and we all picked “Rapha’s song” which was down to business! Once we finished moving and grooving to We Acknowledged the Country, found out the weather, Miss Kate introduced our new “Yugambeh language weather chart” We used our usual weather symbols but also used the yugambeh language one too, Anthony chose that it was sunny with wind which is “Nyungal and “yerragay”. We found out the day, date and recapped our sounds. Miss Kate talked about the sound “d” as our sound of the week, it bounces and to write it we go “around the dinosaurs bottom and up and down his long neck! Words beginning with “d” we thought of were: Dentist, Doctors, Dad, Dolphin, Dog, Donut, Duck, Drink and Dance!
This morning we were lucky enough that Kaia’s Mum brought in birthday cupcake mixture for us to bake cakes! Friends were super excited to do this. In two small groups Miss Bea made the cupcakes with friends. We spoke about the mixture and the ingredients “eggs we need” Zara stated! While one group was making the cakes we explored some activities. The Cloud café was busy with Emily the Chef and Toby the Waiter, they served Jasmine and Jordie smoothies, pizza and donuts. The cars were popular with the boys, today they used the 3D shapes as ramps to shoot the cars around. The Affirmation was nice and chilled today, friends laid on the mat and explored the sensory bottles. Other activities that were popular were designing our own easter egg, puzzles and culture matching games.
Miss Hayley came of yoga which was nice and relaxing, she read a book about a calm kitty, which we turned into, next there was a bright flower- which we also turned into.
Affirmations – I am, Brave, Confident, Strong, Blessed, Loved, Beautiful, Amazing and Going to have the best day!
I am grateful for…. My Mum, My Dad, My house, My bed, the Sun, being healthy and having yummy food.
