Jingeri families and friends, and yet another wet day it is today. Friends were in the sand pit area when Miss Kate arrived, they were amazed by how when they dug holes deep there were lots of water- just like at the beach! Friends found this amazing and it began a trend between all friends. Some friends used the big blocks to construct a rocketship, woohhoshh all the way to the moon!

Once on the mat we Acknowledged the Country, warm up our bodies to “Happy” .We found out the weather, Miss Kate introduced our new “Yugambeh language weather chart” We used our usual weather symbols but also used the yugambeh language one too, Amelia.D chose that it was raining today so “wet” which is “Jabang”. We found out the day, date and recapped our sounds. Today Miss Kate introduced “d” as our sound of the week, it bounces and to write it we go “around the dinosaurs bottom and up and down his long neck! Words beginning with “d” we thought of were:

The cloud café was in full swing this morning, Macy was enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate, some rice and crackers! Amelia was busy being the chef and making Miss Kate some breakfast.

The cars were popular with Murray and Aaron, they used the road on top of the unit and lined up the cars and trucks. Playdough was fun, Miss Kate gave us maps of the world and other culture playdough mats for us to create a variety of flag and countries as an extension to Harmony Day. Fynlee, Indi and Zavier explored the shapes of the different countries.

Kaia, Leon and Max used the connecting blocks, they constructed a “space rocket and a bubble machine gun”. Emily, Zara and Sophie worked with Miss Bea and engaged in lots of yoga positions, the bridge was their favourite! Lucia, Termeh, Toranj and Jordie used the clam relaxing area, they used the Affirmation bottles and read books laying down. Friends who were not in yesterday were able to engage in drawing themselves on the connected people.

Affirmations – I am, Brave, Confident, Strong, Big, Blessed, a Great Friend, Beautiful, Amazing

I am grateful for…. My Mum, My Dad, My house, My beautiful teacher, Having my friends, yummy food.

This afternoon we chose to draw what we were grateful for in our journals, we then engaged in quite activities such as culture matching game, train track, dinosaur area, drawing what we could see outside. Friends with Miss Kate discussed where their family was from- we started this as a group and the one by one we sat with Miss Kate finding our family flags and stating who was from where.
