This morning we were all very keen to get out to the outdoors and explore the areas and play spaces that were created in our yard, we decided to stay in the sandpit are due to it being slippery from the rain. That didn’t stop us having lots of fun though!! To support the development of gross motor skills wee had the obstacle course across one part of the sand pit, friends practised their balancing skills. Other friends used the otherside of the sandpit with the spades, buckets and trucks. Miss Kate supplied a bucket of water and cloths to clean the painting easel. Friends got stuck in and enjoyed taking responsibility for cleaning their things. Blocks were also pulled out and friend constructed a huge castle. The girls from KG1 and 2 were sat in a circle, holding hands and singing songs!
Before we knew it, it was time for us all to line up and head inside for our morning tea and to begin our program for the day. This morning friends were welcomed by Miss Kate with a high 5, fist pump or a hug and a big Jingeri (Welcome in Yugambeh Language). We sat on the mat and J chose a flag out of the basket- today we picked French. We had a look where France was on the map and answered the roll by saying “Bonjour” We then all contuied with our group time songs – days of the week, some of our friends help Miss Kate with the date, month and year while Miss Kate wrote it on the board.
