This morning the children enjoyed:
- Strollers lawn mowers
- Soft blocks
Then this morning Miss Talia gathered then children on the mat for our routine song days of the week. Braxton sung loud and clear for all his friends to hear. Molly then told the class that today is Friday and we get to watch a special show today. Thomas sung our aboriginal greeting song.
We then had a music party playing musical freeze. The children were great at becoming the judge when the got caught moving. Great job to Elke for being the best freezer.
The children then helped each other set up the beds before heading outside for the rest of the morning.
For activity time today we enjoyed our special show ‘Circular Rhythm’ by Lucas Proudfoot. The children loved how funny he was. He first introduced himself to us and told us about his Aboriginal background and showed us a few indigenous instruments.
- The foot drum
- The digeridoo
- The guitar
He explained that the digeridoo is made by termites eating through the wood so the Aboriginal men would walk around banging on the tree trucks to see which ones they could use as their instruments.
Lucas got the Children up dancing, shaking their arms in the air, snapping their hands like a crocodile and reaching up like an emu.
Molly got to go up and clap the clap sticks showing her peers the rhythm the girls had.
The children then enjoyed a run around and play in the yard before heading inside for lunch.
What a fun Friday we have had today with lots of outdoor play.
Have a great weekend!
