Morning tea- granola with mango/peach jelly and fruit

Morning group –
We started with our morning routine:
• Good morning song
• Days of the week
• Counting and number recognition
• ABC and letter recognition
After practicing our Christmas songs, Miss Sana and the children had a group discussion about Christmas and who comes to visit. The children seemed to really enjoy talking about Santa and what he looks like. This gave miss Sana the ideas to make our own Santa together!

Before lunch, we read the story ‘The night before Christmas’ then the children all went outside to participate in Arakan with Mr Dan.

Lunch – avocado and tuna sandwiches with vegetables
Inside children were given variety of opportunities to develop their fine motor, social, role play, construction, coordination and cognitive skills through activities such as:

– Home corner- (dramatic play, memory, social, fine motor, imaginative)
– Cubby house (dramatic play, communication, imagination)
– Making Santa with Miss Sana. Sitting in a small group with the children who wanted to help make Santa. They had group discussions and each child was able to help add on some craft to make Santa. (sensory, fine motor, creativity, colour recognition, social, communication)
– Sensory coloured rice with red, white and green. Today we added in some spoons, bowls, cups and even cars. (sensory, creativity, social, fine motor, colour recognition)
– Connectors introduced from yesterday, this was very popular this morning again (colour recognition, creativity, fine motor, social, hand-eye coordination)
– New puzzle introduced yesterday as well, using coloured gems to piece the animals together (problem solving, social, colour recognition, concentration)
– Wooden building blocks (building, creativity, imagination, fine motor, coordination, social)
Gymnastics: Mylene, Sua, Matilda, Range, Lucia, Fynlee, Chloe
Arakan: Everyone explored this today! All listening so well!
Due to the warmer weather we had an short morning outside, the children were able to explore:
– Cubby houses (dramatic play, social, communication)
– Sandpit with buckets, shovels, pots, trucks- (construction, imagination, creativity, social)
– Free play outside (decision making, extending upon the child’s own interests)
– Bikes and scooter bikes (co-ordination, gross motor)
– Music (language, dance, memory)
– Balancing beam and climbing bars (coordination, physical, balancing, fine and gross motor)
– See-saws (social, fine and gross motor)
– Yoga balls (balancing, taking turns, gross motor, bouncing)
– Water play- we have the water pump now open! (sharing, social, concentration, gross motor)
– Legos (building, imagination, creativity, social)
