Morning tea- rice crackers with cheese, sultanas and fruits

Morning group –
We started with our morning routine:
• Good morning song
• Days of the week
• Counting and number recognition
• ABC and letter recognition
Children were then asked to share the most enjoyable part of their weekend with the classroom whilst being introduced to used past tenses. Miss Sana then introduced today’s Halloween/emotion collaging activity where they were required to make their own ghost by collaging and choosing their preferred facial expressions (happy, excited, angry or excited emotions were offered for children to choose from).Miss Sana continued with explaining that those are just pretend ghost for Halloween and we don’t need to be afraid of them. The group time was finished by reading Angelina’s book called ‘magic ballerina’.

Before lunch, children sat with Miss Vee (art teacher), where they enjoyed listening to a book called ‘I am human’ which was about life and all the possibilities presented. Children then participate in a quick meditation session where they practised deep breathing.

Lunch – nachos with chips and salad
The children were able to continue exploring their sensory, social and fine motor development from their choices of activities:
– Train and train tracks- (fine motor, social, communication, creative, hand eye- co-ordination)
– Home corner- (dramatic play, memory, social, fine motor, imaginative)
– Bark trough with bugs, sieves and large spoons. (sensory, creativity, fine motor, coordination, imagination, social)
– Puzzles – (problem solving, hand-eye coordination, fine motor, communication)
– Hallowing colouring in (cognitive, fine motor, pencil grasp skill, creativity, social)
– Velcro balls and target – (gross motor, coordination, memory, social)
– Rubber band board and rubber bands – (Shape recognition, colours, social, fine motor and creative)
– Alphabet threading – children sat with Miss Rose and enjoyed spelling simple words and their names (concentration, literacy, cognitive, fine motor, communication, hand-eye coordination)
– Collaging – was introduced by Miss Sana where children made Halloween ghosts (cognitive, emotions, fine motor)
– Art class – creating an emotion creature from oil pastel

Gymnastics: Hendrix, Zavier, Luca, Flynn, Warren, Ollie
Outside children had the opportunity to explore their fine motor, social skills and sensory play. They we encouraged to explore:
– Cubby houses (dramatic play, social, communication)
– Sandpit with buckets, shovels, pots, trucks- (construction, imagination, creativity, social)
– Free play outside (decision making, extending upon the child’s own interests)
– Bikes (co-ordination, gross motor)
– Music (language, dance, memory)
– Balancing beam and climbing bars (coordination, physical, balancing, fine and gross motor)
– Stepping blocks (Balance, gross motor, muscle and solo play)
