Good Evening to all our Senior Kindy Families!
What an amazing day we’ve had here at Benowa Hills!
The sun started to shine through which allowed us to enjoy some outdoor play! Miss Stacey set up lots of activities including:
- Easel Drawing – Great for upper body control and muscle building as the children are introduced to a different type of drawing where they are required to stand up and draw rather than leaning on a table.
- Pretend Play with Cars and trucks on the fake grass mat with the road puzzle – Great for imagination and Creativity
- Sustainable Loose Parts – A selection of small wooden blocks, paddle pops and small piece of smooth wood. These tools were used for children to use their cognitive thinking and imagination to build and create independently or in small groups.
- We also spent the morning listening to some Friday Funday tunes to put us all in a good mood!
We came inside nice and early today as we had a very special surprise for our Senior Kindy friends… We quickly ate our morning tea and then sat on the mat outside, ready for a PUPPET SHOW! This show was a comedy show with lots of education about loving yourself, being a kind person, animal identification and much more! The show included lots of dancing, laughing, singing and was very interactive. Thank you to the Larrikin Puppet Show for joining us and entertaining us this morning!
And just when we thought our fun was over, it was time to venture over to the kindergarten yard to participate in our weekly Arikan class with Mr Dan. It was very exciting to be in a new environment, and the children showed excellent focus. Well done!
When we returned it was time to have a short play with our friends. We loved exploring the home corner with the new picnic table, the literacy threading activity, the sensory trough and some quiet reading time with books from the book shelf. We then split into small groups to help our educators pack away.
Once the room was clean we sat on the mat with Miss Bea to sing some songs, and to read some books brought in by our friends Sophia and Rafaela.
Today we also tried making our own beds just before rest time. It was a little tricky, but we all persisted and did an amazing job. We are so proud of how independent our Senior Kindy friends are becoming, well done!
Thank you for such a fabulous week Senior Kindy, we hope you enjoy your weekend and we can’t wait to hear all the wonderful stories you will come back with next week!
This week our friends Max and Luke will be taking home our Literacy Learning Book. We can’t wait to see what adventures you will go on.
See you next week!
Lots of Love,
Miss Stacey, Miss Bea and Miss Rose x
