Hello and good afternoon to all our wonderful Senior Kindy friends and families, welcome to Tuesday the 14th of January 2020.
This morning our yard was a bit wet from the rain that we are so grateful to see but we didn’t let that stop us from playing and having fun with all our friends.
We had bike races around the sandpit area, with friends using the virtue patience while they waited for their turn on the bike, the sandpit sand was the perfect texture today to create the most amazing sandcastles some friends build their own “Frozen” castle along the sandpit edge. The children have been enjoying the building blocks this week while playing outside and all working together on building and constructing the blocks all together. Great team work everyone! The cloud come over and we decided to head inside a little bit earlier today and begin our morning with Miss Stace and Miss Shannen.
We all practiced lining up outside our room door in one big train to transition the children inside to the group time mat. Today we were all off to ‘Sydney’
The children all joined Miss Stacey on the mat for more felt stories and songs using Miss Shannen’s special box. We all loved singing 5 little ducks, row row row your boat, slippery fish and the sausage pan song, We finished off our group time with our days of the week song and welcome to country. We are all getting much better with sitting on the mat during mat times.
Everyone all had very hungry bellies this morning and were ready to feast on morning tea, we all made our way inside the bathroom to wash our hands as we washed our hands we sung our hand washing song top and bottom top and bottom in-between…
We all enjoyed a freshly baked carrot cake and fresh fruit pieces it was all very yummy and we ate it all up! Not leaving a crumb insight.
Once we all packed away our bowls and water bottles back on the trolley we all then had a morning of self selected activities where all our friends explored the room and toys together.
We had dress up with our super hero capes, cooking and shopping in the café, blocks, Lego, reading books, and today we had a gluing and matching/memory activity with Miss Shannen up on the tables. The children each selected a piece of paper either yellow or orange, then they sorted through the superhero cut outs and matched them together before taking a glue stick and sticking their superhero down onto the paper. We had lots of different matching superheros we all did a fantastic job with holding and using the glue stick and very fun activity. We have them up on our art wall for all to see.
Please parents bring in a family photo for us to add to our family tree we would really apricate your participate in our family photo tree as we only have a handful of photos up. You’re more than welcome to email them trough and we can print them off for you to add.
Also next Thursday the 23rd of January we are holding an Australian Day afternoon here in the Senior/Pre Kindy yard from 3pm-4pm we would love for everyone to join us in celebrating all things Australian.
