Good Afternoon Senior Kindy families, we hope you have had a beautiful day!

Today was our final Tuesday of the year, and what a wonderful day we have had!

Our morning started enjoying the warmer weather. We all put on our hats and headed outside for some fun in the sun. Miss Bea was reading books on the mat, and we played some Christmas tunes to keep us in the Christmas spirit. The children loved playing in the cubby house and climbing the fort. It was such a fun morning.

It was a bit humid, so we decided to go inside nice and early, washing our hands and having a big drink of water before morning tea. Today Mr Trevor treated us with yummy coconut yoghurt and strawberries, along with some fresh fruit. What a refreshing way to start the day. We then packed our bowls away and sat on the mat for a group time with Miss Stacey.

We sang our good morning song, days of the week, welcoming of the land and discussed todays weather. Our friend Kaia then showed the book that he had brought in for us to read called Hairy McClairey. Our friend Anthony then asked if we could read ‘The Anywhere Artist’ book, which the children were really engaged in.

It was then time to begin our activities. On the table, Miss Bea had organised a Christmas cutting activity for us to explore. The children really engage in this activity and are progressing really well with this new skill. Well done. Christmas face painting was offered, where the Senior Kindy children turned into the cutest reindeers we had ever seen and Free Expression drawing was offered on the table, as some of our friends wished to draw beautiful pictures for their families. What a beautiful idea! We are so impressed with the children’s ability to have such great control whilst using their pens and pencils. You’ve made us very proud. Our friend Charlotte requested we listened to the Moana track which was also a lot of fun, and for some extra groovy dancing tunes we put on the trolls soundtrack too. The Senior Kindy children just love to dance and sing so much!

For lunch today, we enjoyed some delicious lentil lasagne. We had a popular request for pineapple today, so Miss Stacey went to the kitchen to get some to share with the children.

After our rest, it was time to get ready for the afternoon, and then to head back outside for another play.

Thank you for a great day Senior Kindy. These last days are so much fun!

Lots of Love,

Miss Stacey, Miss Shannen and Miss Bea x
