Our day

Its been a wonderful Tuesday in the toddlers room. This morning in the yard Michael, Vivianne, Mia and Emily had a wonderful play in the sand box they gathered the home corner materials and used their senses to create and make cakes, cookies, pizza and lots of different foods. During our morning play outside Billy found a truck with a digger. He brought it to the Mud Kitchen and used it to scoop and un-scoop the bark.

Miss Amy and Miss Des’ree have been doing the aboriginal greeting in the mornings to support the native Australian culture and to also celebrate reconciliation week. Mia did the best job at reciting the greeting. Well done Mia!

To extend on our local aboriginal greeting Miss Amy got the aboriginal flag colours (yellow, red and black) and helped the toddlers create their personal aboriginal flag using the toddlers hand print. All the toddlers got into the sensory activity and enjoyed the tickling feeling Miss Amy left on their fingers.

Its not a normal toddlers day without some dancing. At different times of free play Michael ,Mikaela, Matthais, Jairaj, Emily and Mia all had time to move their arms , legs and hips to their favoriteDSC01232 DSC01236 DSC01237 DSC01238 DSC01247 DSC01254 DSC01258 DSC01259 DSC01263 DSC01266 DSC01268 DSC01273 DSC01283 song. We have some professionals in the toddlers room!

Miss Des’ree did group time this morning for something different Miss Des’ree got out a Mystery Box. The box had a caterpillar crawl out as well as a slippery fish, 5 cheeky monkeys and humpty dumpty. Asha, Matthias and Vivianne were the best at packing away as a reward during group time Miss Des’ree brought in a special box. The toddlers got to use their senses to feel a puppet and pick it out.

The toddlers loved this new group experience all the toddlers called the names of their familiar group time songs. When our friends pulled them out all the toddlers responded with smiles, laughs and giggles.

Miss Des’ree and Miss Amy-jo always have a great day with the toddlers

Thank you toddlers!
