Jingeri Friends and Family, we hope you’ve had a wonderful Tuesday!
Our morning began with free expression drawing using the jumbo pencils and dramatic play in the home corner area. We love exploring the toddlers home corner because they have real vegetables that we can play with! What a great idea, we might extend upon this for our home corner because the children love it so much!
We came outside at 8am where the Wiggles were highly requested. We spent the morning warming up our bodies and developing within our physical skill sets by copying movements and actions of our friends and educators. Miss Des’ree kindly gifted us some new building blocks yesterday and these have been a fantastic new cognitive activity. The toddlers have been demonstrating lovely sharing and turn taking skills with this new exciting activity, so well done Toddies, we are proud! The children are still loving the blow up beach balls and have improvement so much on their hand-eye co-ordination in regards to their kicking and catching. Too clever toddlers!
We enjoyed our meal times on the deck once again and the children are still loving the self-serve options. Miss Maya didn’t start until 10am this morning so we decided to have a combined morning tea on the deck with our friends from toddlers two! It was such a fun social event and was so great to sit with such a large group, enjoying everybody’s company.
During activity time today we made paper plate pigs! Firstly, we sang old Mcdonald and identified all the animals. We then asked the children if they were to make one animal today what would it be. The children chose a pig. In groups of five, the children sat at the table with aprons on and painted two paper plates the colour pink. The children shared the paint jar and demonstrated excellent fine motor skills when holding the paint brush. This was an introduction activity which will tie in with our barnyard babies experience tomorrow which we are so excited for!
On Thursday we also hope to participate in a special fire truck visit. We are so excited! What a busy week we have ahead of us Toddlers One!
Our question of the day today was:
What animals might you see on a farm? Here are our answers:
Jack: Lion and Shark
Charli: A Horsey
Ari: A Cow
Rory: Tiger! (Roar!)
Leah: I want to eat a lollipop with a doggy on the farm
We asked this question specifically for our friends who will be joining us tomorrow at the Barnyard babies’ experience. We are so excited, and hopefully we can see some of those animals! Our fingers are crossed!
Thankyou for another wonderful day Toddlers. Don’t forget, parent teacher interviews are tomorrow between 3:30 and 5:00pm. We can’t wait to see you there.
Have a great night!
Lots of Love,
Miss Stacey and Miss Maya x
